The Wedding Day Diet

The wedding day diet is not just a regular diet. This one has to make sure you lose weight before the big day.

 Whatever diet you choose to follow as the wedding day diet, be sure to include these four easy steps:

 1. Count your calories. Firstly, you have to know how many calories you eat in a normal day. Take one day to write them all down on paper. Do not forget all the drinks, everything you put in to your mouth – everything counts. Weight yourself. This will ensure the right start for the wedding day diet.

2. Start the wedding day diet on the next day, and eat 500 calories less than you normally do. Also, write them down – it will be easier for you this way to control it. So if you had 2500 calories yesterday, you should start having no more than 2000 calories a day, each and every day until you wedding.

3. Instead of having 3 big meals a day (which is breakfast, lunch and dinner), as most people do, spread those 2000 calories out over 5 smaller meals a day. Eat one smaller meal every 2 to 3 hours during the day.

4. Avoid any food after 7 PM. You can only have water or unsweetened green tea after this time.

5. It is best to have the wedding day diet created for you especially, with the foods you love included, so that you do not have to worry about being on a diet that you feel bad about.

Be sure to follow this schedule for as long as it is necessary, until your wedding day. Otherwise, the wedding day diet will not be that effective.

The Wedding Diet That Actually Works

Everybody knows that the wedding diet that works is the diet you stick to. But even when you impose all of your willpower, and avoid the foods you know are bad for you (but that you really love), the weight doesn’t always drop off you as planned.

When you are approaching your wedding day that’s the last thing you need on your mind. Your big day should be a wonderful, once in a lifetime celebration. It shouldn’t be marred by worries about your weight. So what can you do if your wedding diet isn’t working out as expected?

Well hopefully you have a bit of time left before your wedding. Six or eight weeks is actually plenty of time to turn things around. It is totally possible to lose 1 to 2lbs a week without feeling like you are being starved or punished. That equates to a dress size or more, in case you’re wondering!

Don’t waste your time with any low sodium diets. They will only help to rid you of any retained water and not make an ounce of difference in terms of fat loss, which is what you really want to be losing. Choosing a diet that is designed to help you lose fat, permanently, is your best option.

Remember to check with your family doctor before starting any new diet, nobody want to see you collapse on your wedding day because you were overdoing it. Don’t forget that you will need plenty of energy for what is usually a very long day, so remember to eat sensibly in the day or two beforehand.

On the day itself, forget the wedding diet and try to include some high energy foods in your breakfast – eggs for example. You don’t want to be turning to the Red Bull for an energy boost … at least, not until the speeches are finished!

What To Do After The Wedding

After the wedding and honeymoon, it’s time to take care of post-wedding details. Two important things to take care of are writing thank you notes and paying the final wedding bills, so make sure you have them on your wedding to-do list.

You traditionally have three months after the wedding in which to write thank you notes. Whether you have ten or a hundred to write, the sooner you start writing your thank you notes the sooner you will be done!

There are several different strategies you can use to tackle writing your thank you notes:

  • Think of all the gifts you received. View each thank you note not as a task you have to do but instead as a reminder that you are loved by friends and family!
  • Set a goal. Whether you decide to write a few thank you notes every day or write them all in a weekend, create a plan and then stick with it.
  • Get your pen out. Whether you order stationery, have a designer make you custom notes or print the cards on your home printer, it’s important to include a hand-written and personalized note that thanks the recipient for the specific gift they gave you. In the case of money, it’s acceptable to mention on what you plan to spend their gift.
  • Show them you remember. If someone attended your wedding in person, include a nice note about that on the card. Your guests will appreciate the fact that you remembered!
  • Keep it personal. Did you know you can get special stamps made that have your wedding picture on them? It’s a great way to personalize your thank you notes, and can be a treat for guests who weren’t able to attend your wedding in person.
  • Make a pact with your groom. Some newlyweds agree not to use a gift until they have written the thank you note. It adds some fun to the process, since as soon as each note is done you can play with your new gift!
  • Share the fun! Maybe you can write the notes and he can address them… look for opportunities like that to have fun together thanking friends and family for their thoughtful gifts. Time you spend together after the wedding and honeymoon can be fun no matter what you are doing.

While you are away on your honeymoon, many of your remaining wedding bills have probably come in. A simple way to check is to go through your budget, credit card receipts and checkbook to make sure all of the vendors were paid in full. Make sure to update your budget with the final information so you don’t accidentally pay a bill twice.
